The 5 Flavours

Of Gifted

A 7-day mini-course for parents who are done second-guessing themselves.

There is a particular kind of exhaustion that belongs to those of us with gifted children.

Not the exhaustion of long days, though the days are long. This exhaustion is from oscillation.

Swinging between knowing "my child is brilliant" and thinking "my child is broken." Shifting between awe and some kind of alarm, moments where you see them in full flight, and moments where you wonder if there is something fundamentally wrong.

You read the books. You asked the questions. Perhaps you've sat in front of professionals waiting for an answer that did not arrive, or arrived in a way that doesn't fit.

Underneath all this, there is part of you who knows that your child is not like the others. Not better or worse, just undeniably different.

Wired with a different kind of intensity. Built to meet the world at a different speed, velocity, and volume.

This course is here to give you language, a framework, and an opportunity to step out of oscillation.

In under 15 minutes a day over one week you'll walk away with a perspective that ends the second-guessing once and for all.

How this course flows...

1

From "what is wrong with my child" to "what is my child telling me"

This is not a course of tips and strategies. Its a change in the lens you are looking through.

With the wrong lens we see distortion. Without a framework, every behaviour is ambiguous.

Is this a problem? A phase?

Something I should be worried about? Should I set a boundary? Should I seek help?

The ambiguity is what fuels the second-guessing.

You'll receive The Five Flavours in under 15 minutes a day over the next 7 days. This framework will give you a structure to hold what you are seeing.

The intensity stops being a series of disconnected events.

You'll see a clear pattern you can recognise, name, and respond to.

2

You cannot strategise your way out of a problem you cannot yet see clearly

Most parents of gifted children go looking for strategies first.

The sleep technique, tips to approach the school, the way to handle meltdowns or lack of motivation. All good things.

But the strategies rarely stick, because they were built for a child who is being misread.

Orientation comes before strategy.

When you can accurately see what is driving a behaviour the 'right' response becomes obvious.

Without accuracy you are endlessly managing symptoms. With accuracy everything downstream becomes clear: the advocacy, the daily decisions, the hard conversations.

This is a foundational piece.

3

A century of research, your own lived knowing, and a framework

The Five Flavours are drawn from the work of Kazimierz Dabrowski, the Polish psychiatrist who identified five forms of heightened intensity in the nervous systems of gifted people.

This isn't fringe material. It's an active, growing field of research.

A 2024 international study of highly and profoundly gifted children found that a whopping 99% expressed multiple overexcitabilities.

The intensity these parents are navigating is not disorder. It's development in motion.

This course takes that research and makes it usable in the lives and homes of gifted families.

It marries the rigour of the literature with lived reality, and you step into a new paradigm.

Hi, I'm Devon Harris

I did not come to this work through theory. I came to it the same way you might be coming to it now.

I was parenting a child who did not match the milestones. I had a huge stack of books, intelligent expert advice, and a deep sense that something was still missing.

I am a child and adolescent behavioural specialist by training, but my experience as a parent taught me that the frameworks I had were not enough.

The Five Flavours was the lens I needed as an overlay and to anchor what I already knew to be true.

So yes, I know this terrain from inside my own home, from the theory and from the research.

That's what I hope you'll walk away with too.

Seven short video sessions.

One welcome and orientation, five on each of the Flavours, and one bonus session on an emerging sixth dimension.

Each video is under fifteen minutes. Short by design. I built them to be metabolised, one per day, across a single week.

You can listen whilst you commute, walk, or wash the dishes, and then turn towards your child to test the theory.

By this time next week you will have this entire framework in the context of your unique child.

Every session comes with show notes on the research, deeper detail, and practical strategies, incase you want to go further at any time.

You keep lifetime access. This is not a course you watch once. It is a lens you will return to as your child grows. The questions may change, but the lens remains the same.

What's inside?

One framework. Done once. Returned to for years.

The Five Flavours of Gifted is $97.

Lifetime access.

Yours to revisit every time your child enters a new stage and the questions change shape.

You may have already spent more than that on books that sit half read, and on the daily cost of second-guessing.

This is one of the foundational pieces that orients all of it.
